Summary

Our Leadership and Management degree is designed to offer higher level training to business professionals and provide the essential skills that CMI research shows is required by organisations. The degree is suited to those looking to begin or develop a career in a variety of management functions both in the business and public sector. The degree allows students to combine work and study to gain a full bachelor’s degree.

The Degree is also available as a Degree Apprenticeship, which requires an employer to agree to both fund and support the Apprentice throughout the duration of the programme. The Degree Apprenticeship route requires the student to complete an End Point Assessment, leading to Membership of the Chartered Management Institute. Please see associated apprenticeship web page.

This programme will equip you with the skills and strategies to deal with contemporary challenges in management practice. The programme has been developed in consultation with local and global partners and professional bodies.

During the course the principal methods of teaching and learning will be lectures, demonstrations, presentations, seminars, group work, simulations, case studies and self-study. These take place at Norfolk House, a modern and professional learning environment located right in the centre of Norwich. The emphasis on application of management and leadership skills means that this is a vocational and academic programme and will enable students to both ground their learning in the workplace and to reflect on work practice in an academic context.

Students will be embarking upon a challenging course and will need to balance personal situations (home and paid work) with the amount of degree work required to cover during the course. As well as attending lectures and related workshops, students will need to conduct private study. This could be an extra 12 or more hours per week.
