Summary
A five day programme for young chefs aged 10 -15 who want to learn to cook with imagination and style. New and returning Junior Chef’s are invited to have a go at exciting new recipes to build their skills and confidence.
The Junior Academy provides expert tuition in the professional environment of the College’s industry-standard training kitchens, guided by experienced chefs from the renowned Hotel School.
The course provide opportunities for participants to learn how to prepare, cook and present a wide range of dishes, helping the young chefs to develop new skills and presentation styles.
It has been designed to develop the skills and interest of those who wish to learn how to cook with confidence and style and is open to any young person aged 10 to 15 with an interest in cooking. The summer school will include dishes such as;
soup, cookies, caramalised onion and goats cheese tart tatin, lemon curd, Thai sticky chicken with glass noddle salad, baked blueberry cheesecake, moussaka, flatbreads, lemon and raspberry fool, shortbread biscuits, chilli jam glazed salmon with lime creme fraiche and green beens. Dishes may be subject to change depending on availability of ingredients.
You will be required to bring in containers to take your dishes home.
Course details are as follows:
Time: 9.30am - 12.30pm ( You will be required to come in at 9am on the first session only)
Duration: w/c 22nd July - 26th July 2024
Location: All of the Junior Academy classes are held in the kitchens in the Cromer building of the Hotel School on City College Norwich’s main Ipswich Road campus.
