News about cyber security on College IT systems

You may be aware that Colleges have been subject to some very serious cyber attacks which have resulted in students losing learning opportunities. To protect our systems, during the week commencing 6 September we will be implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for when you log in to college IT systems on your phone or from home.

MFA is not difficult but it will help keep your data and our systems safe. It will involve you  installing a smartphone Authenticator app (free) and one click will get you online when you log in. Don’t worry if you don’t have a smartphone as other options are available.

News about Covid and keeping safe

You'll be used to doing Lateral Flow Tests (LTFs) at home and we're going to carry on asking you to test twice a week for now, and upload your results to the web portal like you did last year. We'll ask you to test first before you arrive to start your course. You can pick up free LTF kits at college and lots of other places: type your post-code here to find your nearest place.

Just before term starts we will tell you about other things we will need you to do to help keep yourself, other students and staff safe. We know Covid hasn’t gone away and if you are over 18 one thing you could do right now is to get your vaccinations before term starts. Find information about walk-in clinics here.

Keep watching this website for news on how we'll all stay safe and keep learning from September.
