Work towards a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) License

Our aviation engineering degree course gives you the opportunity to work towards a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Category B License which allows you to work on aircraft unsupervised.

Choosing this pathway in the second year of the course will allow you to complete the examinations you need to apply for a B1.1 or B2 license* alongside your degree course. This will help accelerate your progress in the industry and put you in a better position to work towards securing higher level employment after graduating.

*Please note, you will need to complete two years’ work experience at an approved maintenance organisation after graduating before being able to apply for either a Category B1.1 or B2 EASA Licence.

Financial Support Options

There are a number of financial support options available for degree level study depending on your individual circumstances.

Financial support available for degree level study includes:

  • tuition fee loan from Student Finance England to cover course fees*,  
  • maintenance loan to help with living costs up to £9,400 per year
  • council tax reduction and
  • Parent Learning Allowance or Childcare Grant if you have dependent children.
