Summary

This course offers a comprehensive understanding of the Health & Social Care Sector giving you the underpinning knowledge and skills to progress within this industry. Work experience is included as part of the course to give you a range of valuable practical experiences. It will also help build your confidence, knowledge and enhance your practical social care skills.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English language and Maths. Or a relevant BTEC Level 2 Health and Social Care at Merit or above. A successful completion of Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check (a fee applies).

Assessment

Assessment is through a variety of methods, which include assignments, case studies and course work. You will also keep a log of your experience on placement and your personal development. This qualification will include both internal and external assessment methods.

Progression

Further academic options could include study at degree or foundation degree level at University or College.

Career Progression

You could study a wide range of courses at university including those related to Health or Social Care or go directly into employment with the option of further training e.g. NVQs/apprenticeships. Some students go straight into employment, often as a result of successful work placements.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over fees may be payable.
