What You Will Study

If you are interested in Electrical, your journey will start at Level 2 where you will focus on developing your technical knowledge in a classroom environment and practical skills and tasks in our Construction Skills Hub workshops.

You will learn the core skills for your specialism from industry trained and highly experienced staff.

Units you will cover at Level 2 include:

  • Health and safety and industry practices
  • Electrical science
  • Electrical installation
  • Electrical technology

On successful completion of Level 2, you may progress to Level 3 to further develop your technical knowledge and move on to more complex practical tasks.

Your course will also include employer visits, work experience, competitions the opportunity to attend careers fairs and get support writing your CV.

Entry Requirements

You need to achieve GCSE maths at grade 4 or above and GCSE English language at grade 3 or above.

How You Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed through a synoptic practical assessment and your technical knowledge will be assessed via a theory exam.

Course Progression

Whatever your starting point we have options available for you, you can progress onto higher level courses, move into an Apprenticeship or go into employment once you have achieved the required skills and qualifications. We also offer a range of Higher Education courses including HTQs in areas such as Construction management.

You could consider a career working as an electrician, electrical engineer, maintenance technician or power systems engineer, to name a few.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free.
