What You Will Study
Our Level 2 Electrical Certificate is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and practical experience required to begin a career in the electrical installation industry as a trainee electrician.
The course combines both theoretical learning and practical workshop activities, giving you the opportunity to develop essential industry skills. You will learn how to install electrical circuits, equipment, cables and accessories, while gaining experience in the safe use of hand and power tools.
You will cover:
- Health and safety in building services engineering
- Engineering principles of electrical science
- Electrical installation technology
- Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
- Understanding how to communicate effectively with others within the building services industry.

Entry Requirements
- GCSE maths at grade 4 or above and GCSE English at grade 3 or above.
How You Will Be Assessed
You will be required to complete both a theory examination and a synoptic assessment, which brings together multiple elements of the course and assesses your overall practical competence and knowledge.
Course Progression
This course will provide you with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills to progress onto the next level course or an Apprenticeship.
Where Your Course Can Take You
You could consider roles working as an Electrician, Electrical Engineer or Electrical Technician.
Fees
If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over please contact the Advice Shop In addition to this there will be costs for Uniform of steel toe capped boots, trousers and logo shirt.
