This one-year part-time course can be managed alongside work and incorporates both subject matter content and study skills support. There is one contact session per week, Thursdays from 9am to 4.30pm, at our City College Norwich campus on Ipswich Road. It is recommended that, in addition to contact sessions, you should also factor in an equal amount of time per week for personal research, class preparation, and assignment completion.

- 332 Stakeholder Communication for First Line Managers
- 333 Delivering Organisational Activities

The Diploma attracts a varied range of participants from many sectors, at different ages, and with diverse work and life experience - this leads to a dynamic learning environment. The topics that you will explore will assist you in developing the skills, confidence, and approach required for the next steps in leadership and management.
Entry Requirements
While there are no specific entry requirements for this course, you will need to demonstrate competency in English language due to the essential written component of the course. Ideally, you will have a minimum of a Grade C in GCSE English and feel confident in your assignment writing ability.
How You Will Be Assessed
Assessment will be through a variety of methods including assignments, work-based evidence, scenario and case study-based activity, as well as reflective statements or accounts. Every unit requires you to complete a 3,000 to 3,500 word assignment, which you will be supported to achieve through study skills sessions.
Course Progression
Over the duration of the course, you will have the opportunity to develop a range important general management skills and explore your own personal leadership qualities. This will help you to discover and consider potential career paths within leadership and management. The skills attained on the course can assist you with career advancement, CV and employability enhancement, or to continue with higher education.
Where Your Course Can Take You
Participants who have completed the Diploma, and are aspiring to a management role, may go on to take-up positions such as: Team Leader, Supervisor, Project Officer, Shift Manager or Foreperson. The qualification may also be used as a stepping stone to access other CMI qualifications, such as CMI Level 5 in Management and Leadership with the goal of becoming a Chartered Manager.
