• GCSE English and maths at grade 3.

How You Will Be Assessed

Assessment will be on a unit-by-unit basis, consisting of both theoretical and practical elements. You will be given feedback as you progress through the skills taught and then once you are competent, you will be prepared for assessment tasks. Theory is assessed through written assignments, tests and online exams as well as practical assessments.

Course Progression

On successful completion of the programme, you may continue onto a range of Level 2 courses including Hairdressing, Beauty or Media Make Up Artistry. Future options at City College Norwich also include Level 3 and 4 qualifications.

Where Your Course Can Take You

The hair and beauty industry is vibrant, dynamic and creative, offering fantastic employment and training opportunities. You may progress onto working in salons or spas, both in the UK and abroad. You may also work in hotels, hospitals, health clubs or on cruise liners. With further experience, you may also become a salon owner or follow a career in hair design for photography and fashion or teaching.

Fees

For UK students aged under 19 years old on the 31st August prior to the start of your course, your tuition fees are free. In addition to this there will be costs for equipment, uniform and trips and financial support for this could be available depending on your circumstances. Uniform and kit costs tbc.
