What You Will Study

Take your drawing skills to the next level by learning how to create original scenes from your imagination. Ideal for anyone who has completed our Introduction to Drawing course or has some existing drawing experience, this practical course explores perspective, figure drawing and composition in a supportive studio environment.

Led by our highly experienced tutor, who has spent years honing her artistic practice and now teaches at universities and delivers workshops internationally, you'll benefit from professional guidance inspired by traditional fine art training.

Across six weekly sessions, you'll develop the confidence to construct believable spaces, draw the human figure using simple proportions, and combine people, objects and environments into engaging visual narratives. Each class includes warm-up exercises to strengthen pencil control, observation and accuracy before moving on to guided creative projects.

Over the six weeks you'll explore:

• Week 1: Perspective, line, shape and form
• Week 2: Objects, interiors and creating depth
• Week 3: Constructing and placing the human figure
• Week 4: Figures in action and visual storytelling
• Week 5: Planning your own imagined composition
• Week 6: Completing and refining a final original drawing

By the end of the course, you'll leave with a finished imaginative artwork and the confidence to create more ambitious drawings independently.

This course will run on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 8pm.
