What You Will Study

This qualification provides learners with a broad introduction to the Hospitality and Catering sector, equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills tailored to the industry. Alongside sector-specific learning, students will develop a range of transferable employability skills, including communication, teamwork, business, digital, and research skills. The course also includes bitesize English and maths units to support progression.

Through a hands-on approach, students will engage in various projects and practical activities designed to enhance their understanding of the industry and prepare them for further study or employment in hospitality, catering, or related sectors. By gaining insight into the workings of the industry, learners will develop a strong foundation to support their next steps in education and career progression

Formative practical and written assessments will take place throughout the programme to measure progress with support of the tutor

Many pathways to employment including catering in the public sector such as care homes, hospitals, schools, company canteens, cafes, this could be as a chef/cook or service Front of house

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over, please contact the Advice Shop. There will be additional costs for uniform and equipment, approximately £64.
