What You Will Study

This Engineering T Level Foundation Year programme will prepare you for entry onto our Engineering T Levels in Mechanical, Mechatronic and Light and Electric Vehicle. It provides a high-quality route onto T Levels for students who would benefit from the additional study time and preparation before they start a full T Level programme.

The programme will develop your knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Engineering technical knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge and skills for the workplace
  • Skills for successful study
  • English, maths and digital skills
  • Work-ready behaviours and attitudes

The Engineering elements of the programme will support you to propose design solutions to meet specifications, apply practical skills to produce engineered products and solve problems with innovative engineering ideas.

Entry Requirements

  • Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths.
  • You will also need to achieve GCSE English language at grade 3 or above.

How You Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed through a range of methods including written work, presentations, online tests and practical demonstrations as well as project based learning.

Course Progression

On successful completion, you could progress onto our Engineering T Level in Maintenance, Installation and Repair route, selecting one of the three occupational specialisms we offer in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Light and Electric Vehicles. You could also progress to an Apprenticeship within this sector.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over please contact the Advice Shop In addition to this there will be costs for Uniform of steel toe capped boots, overall/trousers and Jacket.
