What You Will Study

This two-year T Level course, developed in collaboration with employers and businesses, will prepare you for careers in the field of electrical engineering. The course is the equivalent of three A Levels.

You will initially develop hand skills in our workshops using our state-of-the-art facilities, while developing underpinning knowledge in a classroom environment.

Through the core curriculum you will cover units such as:

  • Health and safety in construction
  • Construction science, design and sustainability principles
  • Relationship management in construction
  • Building Services Engineering (BSE) systems
  • Tools, equipment and materials
  • Digital technology in construction
  • Construction information and data principles

You will also undertake an industry placement of between 45 and 50 days (315 hours) across the two years.

Entry Requirements

  • Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language and science.
  • You also need to achieve GCSE maths at grade 5 or above.

How You Will Be Assessed

You will be assessed through:

  • Two written examinations
  • An employer set project – task
  • Occupational specialism – externally set assignment (year 2)

Course Progression

This qualification focuses on the development of the knowledge and skills needed for working in the BSE industry, which will prepare you to enter the industry through employment or as an Apprentice. Furthermore, the completion of this qualification provides the opportunity to progress onto higher education courses and training.
