Plumbing & Heating Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Plumbing & Heating Engineer to join our growing team. This role would be particularly suitable for someone who is nearing completion of their Plumbing and Heating qualification or has recently qualified and is looking to develop their skills and experience within a supportive and established team. Full support, mentoring and ongoing training will be provided to help the successful candidate build their knowledge and progress their career.
Experienced engineers are also encouraged to apply.
Main Responsibilities
Installation, servicing, fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of gas and oil-fired boilers (where applicable).
Installation, maintenance and repair of domestic and commercial plumbing and heating systems.
Installation, fault diagnosis and maintenance of bathrooms, showers and sanitary ware.
Installation and maintenance of hot and cold-water systems.
Installation of waste, soil and drainage systems.
Installation and replacement of radiators, cylinders, tanks and associated equipment.
Installation of pipework including copper, crimped copper, stainless steel crimped systems, MDPE, soil pipework, push-fit and solvent weld systems.
Installation, commissioning and maintenance of valves, controls and heating components.
Carry out minor plumbing and heating repairs as required.
Operation of power flushing and system flushing equipment.
Complete all work in accordance with current legislation, industry standards and company procedures.
Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe and tidy upon completion.
Adhere to health and safety requirements, risk assessments and safe systems of work at all times.
Complete all required job sheets, reports, certificates and company paperwork accurately and within required timescales.
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota (if applicable).
Undertake any other duties reasonably required by management.
Skills and Experience
Experience working within domestic and commercial plumbing and heating environments.
Ability to service, diagnose faults, maintain and repair clean and dirty water systems.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide technical support and advice to customers and colleagues.
Methodical approach to work with good planning, organisational and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to assist other trades and departments when required.
Ability to manage projects and installations from commencement through to completion.
Ensure all project documentation is maintained and returned daily as required.
Support management with operational and technical duties as required.
Working knowledge of pipework installations, pumps and associated systems (essential).
Electrical aptitude and fault-finding experience (desirable but not essential).
Good customer service and communication skills.
Willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training.
Qualifications and Requirements
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating, or equivalent qualification.
Relevant Gas Safe and/or OFTEC qualifications where applicable.
Applications are welcomed from candidates who are nearing completion of their qualification, have recently qualified, or have established industry experience.
Previous industry experience is desirable but not essential.
Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
Current CSCS Card (Desirable).
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces where required.
Right to work in the UK.
