Are you a motivated team player with a passion for customer service and creating a welcoming environment? Easton College is looking for a Catering Assistant to support our busy Hospitality & Catering team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and is committed to maintaining high standards of food preparation, cleanliness and customer care.
About the Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operation of our catering facilities. You will assist with food preparation and service, help maintain clean and safe working environments, and provide outstanding service to students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, snacks and beverages.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchens, dining areas and coffee shops.
• Operate tills and carry out cashier duties as required.
• Ensure equipment and cleaning materials are used safely and appropriately.
• Monitor stock levels and support the replenishment of vending machines when required.
• Assist with menu planning for college catering services and special events.
• Support conference and meeting room bookings, including room setup and refreshment requirements.
• Respond professionally to telephone and face-to-face enquiries from internal and external customers.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
• Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualification (or equivalent), or willingness to achieve this within two years.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly motivated and organised, with the ability to manage your own workload.
• Comfortable using systems and technology to carry out day-to-day tasks.
• A flexible, adaptable and resilient approach to work.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
• A genuine commitment to supporting student success.
