What You Will Study

This summer, get ready to level up your photography game with our a hands-on, five-day photography camp designed for those aged 11 to 16. Whether you’re a total beginner or already snapping away, this camp is your chance to explore photography in a fun, creative way and learn from expert photographers.

Set at City College Norwich, you’ll have access to amazing facilities, including fully-equipped digital editing suites, where you'll learn everything from camera basics to pro-level editing skills. Through daily creative projects, photo challenges, and expert guidance, you'll develop the skills to capture your world like a true photographer.

Day 1: Start by getting comfortable with your camera. Learn how to use its controls, move beyond auto mode, and start thinking about how to capture the world around you. We’ll kick off with some basic photography techniques and get your creativity flowing right from the start.

Day 2: Ready to make your shots stand out? Dive into aperture settings and learn how to control depth of field. You’ll start experimenting with how to make your subjects pop, using focus techniques that professional photographers use.

Day 3: Photography is all about light! Learn how to read and use natural and artificial light to create stunning images. From controlling exposure to mastering white balance, you’ll learn to use light to your advantage in every shot.

Day 4: Learn the secrets behind great composition. You’ll discover how to frame shots, balance elements, and add creative flair to your photos. Whether you're capturing people, landscapes, or abstract subjects, this day will teach you how to think like a photographer.

Day 5: Explore photo editing software, learn the basics of enhancing your photos, and get hands-on experience using filters and adjusting your shots for maximum impact. By the end of the day, you’ll have photos

Each day will run from 9am to 3pm. You will need to bring a packed lunch and notify us of any medication.
