How You Will Be Assessed
This course is 100% coursework assessed, with no written exams. You will complete a series of projects that are designed to broaden your skills, experience and expertise. The projects are multi-disciplinary and you will be expected to work collaboratively and proactively with fellow students as well as external clients and stakeholders.
Much of the written evidence, which supports your performance work, is in the form of a digital portfolio. You will need to update this regularly to document your development and research. Other evidence may include presentations, essays and portfolios.
The final end-point assessment (commonly referred to as the final major project) decides your overall grade for the year - this is graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. This course is allocated the following UCAS points:
- Pass (72)
- Merit (120)
- Distinction (168).
All Student work is internally assessed by external verifiers from the University of the Arts London (UAL), to ensure that academic standards are adhered to and maintained. Your Course Leader will provide more details on what these involve when they meet you.
Course Progression
This course may allow you to progress to a variety of different professional pathways:
- Further study and training at university
- Specialised vocational training at accredited drama schools
- Degrees in fields other than performing arts (the allocated UCAS points mean that you can do this)
- Working in the industry
- Other employment or apprenticeships
Where Your Course Can Take You
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be ideally positioned to follow in the footsteps of alumni, such as ex-student Sam Claflin, by progressing to prestigious universities such as London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, LMA, Rose Bruford and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
