What You Will Study

This course will introduce you to the health and social care sector. It will provide the underpinning knowledge and skills required to progress to further study or employment with training in a health and social care setting. Throughout this course we will reference working with children and young people, people with additional support needs, older people and people accessing healthcare services.

Entry Requirements

You will need to achieve four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language and maths.

You will also need to provide two references and complete a Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check.

How You Will Be Assessed

Throughout the course, you will assessed by completing individual and group projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations.
There are two mandatory exams that you need to pass to complete the Level 2 course. Exam 1 covers Human Lifespan Development, Exam 2 covers Healthy Living.

Course Progression

On successful completion of the course and having achieved a grade 4 in maths and English Language, you could progress to a higher level qualification at City College Norwich, such as a the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, T Level in Supporting Healthcare or an apprenticeship.

Where Your Course Can Take You

After the course, you could look to progress onto further training which will support your pathway towards a career such as nursing, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy or health and social care.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over fees may be payable.
