Summary

The level 2 Diploma Early Years Practitioner has been designed to support learners as they develop their knowledge, understanding and skills when caring for and supporting the learning and development of children aged 0-5 years. Learners will cover a range of units including child development, play and learning, support care routines, healthy lifestyles for babies and young children, legislation and nutrition.
This course is five days a week. You will study three days a week in college and two days a week on placement in a nursery or reception class.

Entry Requirements

Students must have 4 GCSE's at grade 3 or above, including English Language and Maths. They will need to demonstrate an ability and aptitude for working with children aged 0 to 5 years. Students will also need to successfully complete a Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check.

Assessment

Each unit has a grade of pass. To pass the course, students need to complete all units.
Deadlines are set for each piece of work, where students must meet all deadlines.
There will be homework each week. Students will need to be organised with work for each teacher
The Level 2 Diploma in Early Years Practitioner is course work based. You will be required to study English Language and maths if you do not hold a grade 4 or higher and sit the exams.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over fees may be payable.
