Summary

The T Level Foundation in Marketing programme provides a high-quality route onto T Levels, for students who would benefit from the additional study time and preparation that it will give them before they start their T Level.
The T Level Foundation in Marketing will provide skills and knowledge with a focus on the following core aspects:
Knowledge and Skills for the Workplace
Industry Relevant Technical Knowledge
Skills for Successful Study
English, Math’s and Digital Skills

This qualification is for students who want to start a career in marketing. The qualification has been developed in consultation with employers in the marketing sector. This means that it will enable students to develop the skills and behaviours. All the content of the qualification is mandatory and relates directly to the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers in the marketing sector.

The areas students will cover include:

  • marketing in business
  • research the marketing of a product or service
  • create digital marketing communications
  • plan and present a marketing campaigning.

    Learners will develop other transferable technical and practical skills in communication (working with colleagues and customers), and research and project work (giving them the opportunity to show reflective practice by suggesting different approaches to solving a problem). Also, the course has good relationships with Marketing companies that are very involved with the project journeys for our students.

Entry Requirements

Achieve 5 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, which must include English Language and maths.

Learning Outcomes

Achievement in the qualification requires a demonstration of depth of study in each unit, assured acquisition of the practical skills required for employment in the specific sector and successful development of transferable skills. Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified. All units in the qualification contribute proportionately to the overall qualification grade.

Objective

Key principles for the T Level Foundation in Marketing
1) Provide relevant preparation for what students will experience on T Levels
2) Develop core knowledge, skills and behaviours that prepare students for progressing to level 3 study in their chosen T Level route
3) Help students to make the right decision about what to do after the programme

Assessment

Students will be assessed through four units:

Unit 1: Marketing in Business
Unit 2: Research the Marketing of a Product or Service
Unit 3: Create Digital Marketing Communications
Unit 4: Plan and Present a Marketing Campaign

Within the units, students will be assessed through onscreen testing, assignments and presentations.

Progression

Progression can be to their chosen Level 3 T-Level, employment, an apprenticeship or another course. The expectation is that students wishing to progress to the Level 3 T-Level programme will have met the 90% attendance target plus have demonstrated a good level of performance in terms of work progress, behaviour, also achieving a Merit overall for the Level 2 qualification and achieved GCSE English and Maths to the required grade.

Career Progression

The subject area can lead students into a wide variety of different occupations in a wide range of business/ Marketing environments. Having completed this course, the next step may be to continue their studies either in an apprenticeship or other subject areas.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over fees may be payable.
