Apprenticeship Award winners

27th May 2025 – Tags: Apprenticeships

City College Norwich and Easton College, which together work with over 700 employers to train more than 1,000 apprentices each year, have celebrated outstanding apprenticeship achievements by apprentices and their employers over the past year.

The colleges’ 2025 Apprenticeship Awards, hosted in the student-run Debut Restaurant, saw 17 awards presented to exceptional apprentices and employers – spanning sectors including agriculture, health, finance, professional services, engineering, construction, and hospitality.

Jerry White, Principal of City College Norwich and Easton College, said:

Congratulations to all our apprentices and employer partners whose achievements have been recognised through these awards. Their stories highlight the brilliant opportunities that exist for apprentices to develop their skills in the workplace, the valued contributions apprentices are making in their job roles, demonstrate what great support for apprentices looks like, and show how apprenticeships are a real springboard for further career progression.”

Leadership and Management degree apprentice Peter Cummings, who works for The Norwich School of Hair and Beauty, was named as the overall Apprentice of the Year.

The award was made in recognition of his growth as a leader and contribution to the business, his outstanding academic achievement, and the support he has provided to his peers in the group. Peter commented:

It’s been a real challenge, but with the support that I’ve had from work and the college, it’s been really do-able. With all of the things that I’ve been learning, as I’ve completed each module, I’ve been able to incorporate a little bit at a time into my work. It’s been fantastic. I’m absolutely chuffed to pieces to have received this award.”
