What You Will Study

On this course, you’ll take your game development skills to the next level and work in a studio-style environment where you design, build, test, and refine your own games just like real developers do.

During the year you will:

  • Create your own polished game prototype or vertical slice
  • Learn what makes games engaging by studying game design theory and player behaviour
  • Explore mechanics, storytelling, level design, difficulty balancing and progression systems
  • Build skills in programming, game art, animation, UI/UX and VFX
  • Work in a development team using industry workflows and sprint cycles
  • Use tools like Unreal Engine, Blender and other professional software
  • Take part in studio playtests, critique sessions and public showcases
  • Build an impressive portfolio ready for university or the games industry

This course is ideal if you want to specialise, move toward employment, or prepare for university-level games study.
