What You Will Study
If you are keen to learn new mathematical skills, and apply these to problem solving, then look no further than A Level Maths!
This course covers three stimulating and varied main areas: pure mathematics, statistics and mechanics. In pure mathematics, you will cover algebra, geometry, polynomials, trigonometry functions, and calculus. Throughout the statistics element of the course, you will study data and graphs, probability, the binomial and normal distributions, and hypothesis testing. Finally, mechanics is the study of motion, through which you will explore Newton’s laws, forces, the constant acceleration formulae, friction and projectiles.
A Level Maths will teach you to understand the world around you through applying mathematics to real life situations. The course was developed in collaboration with Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI), allowing you to develop your mathematical understanding and skills and encouraging you to think, act and communicate mathematically.
Throughout this course, you will study topics on a deeper level and will have the opportunity to discover areas that will be new to you. You will learn to think clearly and logically, and to persevere when you can’t immediately see the solution to a problem.
