What You Will Study

On this two-year course you will work towards the University of the Arts (UAL) Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Productions Arts (Dance). The Extended Diploma at Distinction level is allocated 168 UCAS points which is equivalent to three full A Levels at grade A*.

Our dance diploma programme provides a broad base of professional training in ballet, contemporary dance, jazz dance and musical theatre, with in-depth development of specialist skills, educating quality performers who progress onto study at top UK Performing Arts Schools

Performance opportunities are built into the curriculum throughout both years, ranging from informal, in-studio presentations of work to full evening performances staged in our very own Platform Theatre.

Technical training and performance are combined with creative practice and choreography, as well as intellectually-challenging theory and research. You will be supported to think critically about dance, enhancing your understanding of the industry and your development as a performer and practitioner.

City Colleges dance programme enables students to take increased ownership of their own training path, whilst producing dance students who have the versatility to progress into a wide range of Higher Education courses.
