What You Will Study
A five week course running on Wednesday evenings, teaching the basics of the French Language.
- Week 1 – Greetings through Theatre (basic phrases; present tense; paired introduction workshop around theatre)
- Week 2 – Self-Introduction though Poetry (talking about oneself; past tenses; presentation workshop around poetry)
- Week 3 – Regional Contexts & Etymology through Film (‘Where words come from, and why are they used a certain way?’ future tense; workshop around connections with English and other languages)
- Week 4 – Phonetics & Pre/Suf-fixes though Song (covering more in depth pronunciation through homonyms & accent marks; conditional tense; conversation improv workshop)
- Week 5 – Figures of Speech & Semantics (students to bring a piece of French-spoken media of their choice; imperative mood; Combo of weeks 1-4’s workshop but centred around tone )
Running every Wednesday evening, beginning on the 5th of March 18:00-20:00.
