What You Will Study
The Award in Digital and IT Skills is a part-time course that runs for 18 weeks. It is designed for those who want to develop and extend their digital skills to prepare for employment in a number of industries.
It is a daytime course, which is three hours long with additional online homework set each week.
The qualification gives you an opportunity to develop an understanding of the importance of digital skills in the workplace, and the actual skills and characteristics desired by employers. You will study two units -. Using Digital Technologies and Social Media Marketing.
Entry Requirements
A reasonable knowledge of IT skills is expected. Ideally, you will have completed the Level 1 Digital and IT Functional Skills course, otherwise you will be required to take an initial assessment to assess your prior knowledge in digital skills.
How You Will Be Assessed
Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence.
Course Progression
Upon successful completion of this course, you could progress onto higher Digital and IT qualifications e.g. the Level 2 Certificate in Digital and IT Skills.
Where Your Course Can Take You
The course is designed to prepare you for employment in a number of areas. Many careers need a basic understanding of digital skills, for example: Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, Teaching Assistant, Retail and Sales, Media and Research.
