What You Will Study

A Level Psychology will answer the question of why people behave as they do, and will explore what drives our thoughts, emotions and actions. This course gives you the chance to explore these fascinating questions using a variety of scientific methods such as experiments, interviews and questionnaires.

During your first year, you will study memory, attachment, social influence, approaches in psychology, clinical psychology and research methods. The topics you will investigate in your second year include the issues and debates in psychology, gender, schizophrenia, forensic psychology and advanced research methods.

A Level Psychology is perfect for those who are keen to immerse themselves in a new and thought-provoking subject, supported by experienced, enthusiastic subject specialists. This course will challenge your interpretation skills, your ability to remember factual information, and will include elements of maths.

Your lessons will give you the opportunity to undertake research into a range of interesting topics and psychological questions, which will be supported by introductions to real-world studies that look to understand behaviours. There may also be opportunities to support your learning by attending psychology based trips.
