What You Will Study

A T Level in Marketing provides students with a foundation in the core business principles found in the marketing sector.

Topics covered over the two-year course include

  • Business Environments - how business and organisations operate, their economic Factors, the legal and regulatory frameworks they have to adhere, as well as ethical frameworks.
  • Principles of Marketing, Sales and Procurement - the processes, tools and legal frameworks that organisations use to drive strategy in promoting products and or services, negotiating and managing supplies and making decisions.
  • Digital and Technological Impact - how e-commerce, analytics, social media and digital marketing are used and consistently changing to improve Marketing and Procurement functions within businesses and organisations.
  • Communication and Project Skills - from working with stakeholders, negotiation skills and managing large and complex problems in the workplace, students gain knowledge from by working in teams and presenting projects to a professional standard.

As with all T Level Industry placement is a key feature of this course and each students must complete a minimum of 315 hours of experience in a workplace environment in Marketing during the two year course. The team at CCN will work with you to help find a suitable placement.

Entry Requirements

You will need to achieve five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language and maths. GCSE business is preferred but not essential to getting on the course. If you have studied business before, this needs to be at a grade 4.

How You Will Be Assessed

Assessment will take place through a combination of externally set and marked exams, an employer-set project and end point synoptic assessment.

Year 1: Core Component = 50% of total grade and is made up of:

Core Paper 1 = 30% of core (15% of total) - 2.5 hours
Core Paper 2 = 30% of core (15% of total) - 2.5 hours
Core Employer Set Project controlled assessment = 40% of core (20% of total) - 10 hours

Year 2: Year Occupational specialism = 50% of total and is made up of:

Occupational Specialism controlled assessment - 24.5 hours

Course Progression

Students can go on to university to primarily to study Marketing related courses but can also explore degree courses as diverse as accountancy, law, business, human resources, event planning, business management as well as joint courses combining Business with, for example, a language. Students also use the Marketing course to lead into Apprenticeships and career opportunities in areas such as; digital marketing retail, customer service, banking, sales, administration and becoming an entrepreneur.

Where Your Course Can Take You

Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress onto a career in the Business sector, but in particular jobs in marketing such as: Marketing Administrator, Marketing Assistant and Digital Marketing Assistant.

You could enter employment or start an Apprenticeship, for example higher-level Apprenticeships such as the Level 4 Marketing Executive, Level 4 Market Research Executive, or Level 4 Public Relations and Communications Assistant. Some students gain employment through their industry placement as well.

Fees

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over fees may be payable.
