What You Will Study

Physics is a fascinating subject that examines how?our world and the rest of the universe works.?It questions everything, from what existed before?the Big Bang to how cars can use less petrol. This course is the perfect option for lovers of maths, particularly algebra. You will be encouraged to think critically and will have the opportunity to develop your problem-solving skills.

This course combines the theoretical study of?physics and practical laboratory work that will allow?you to analyse data. In your first year, you will focus on a variety of?topics including measurements and their errors,?particles and radiation, waves, mechanics and?materials, as well as electricity. In your second year, you will progress onto topics including circular motion, oscillations, fields, thermal physics, and nuclear physics.?

Throughout this course, you will have access to a specialist physics lab and equipment to support your learning journey.

You will have the chance to practice the skills you have learned through a range of hands-on?experiments that encourage the use of a breadth of equipment. There will be exciting opportunities to watch various demonstrations, such as the giant capacitor,?and the mystery of the chocolate chip muffin model.
