Job Description

Location

Norwich office (Whiffler Rd) or home based after in-person training in office.



Time commitment

Minimum of 4 hours per week 



Purpose of the role

To help ensure the smooth running and organisation of the incoming referrals systems.



Main duties and responsibilities include:

Regular checks of incoming email inbox/referral system for new referrals.

Check incoming referral to ensure all relevant data required has been provided.

Enter client details onto internal database and assign to relevant workqueue, dependent on location of client.

Update system to reflect relevant outcome, e.g. referral accepted, referral declined, referral acknowledged etc.

Liaise with other team members if referral path is not obvious based on location.

Attend any relevant training or meetings.



Personal skills and qualities that a Volunteer Referrals Administrator needs:

A commitment to the aims and principles of the CAB service. 

To be organised and systematic.

An understanding of the importance of CAB work.

Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

A willingness to attend training and other meetings.

To be able to work as part of a team.

Respect for views, values and cultures that are different to their own  

An understanding of confidentiality and what it is important and a knowledge of keeping information safe online.

Ability to recognise their own limits and boundaries in the role, asking for help when needed 



Additional requirements for home-based workers

If you wish to take on the role as a home-working volunteer, you will still need to attend in-person training sessions. We can only accept home-volunteering within the hours of 9am and 5pm from Monday-Friday so that you can be remotely supervised.  



In order to volunteer from home, you will need to have adequate technology including:  

A smart phone  

A laptop or computer with a good internet connection 

A confidential space from which you can work
