Support Worker – The Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub

St Martins Housing Trust

Norwich, NR1 4AA

Job Description

St Martins are looking for a Support Worker to join The Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub.

The Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub is just one element of the Rapid Re-housing Pathway, which is included in the Government's Rough Sleeping Strategy 2018 and which opened in the Autumn of 2019.

The aim of the service is to provide a safe place to stay for a person who is already sleeping rough, has a history of rough sleeping or is at imminent risk of rough sleeping. At The Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub, a person’s needs will be assessed and a clear and rapid housing pathway with support will be identified and quickly put in to place, working in partnership with local service providers and Norwich City Council.

St Martins are looking for a Support Worker to assess residents’ abilities and develop an achievable resettlement action plan in line with the service objectives. To be successful you will be confident, adaptable, conscientious, have empathy with our service users and have the determination to make a difference. Experience of working with people with substance misuse and mental health issues is essential.

The role will be full-time, contracted until August 2022.

If you are interested in being part of a team reducing the number of people having to sleep rough on our streets and supporting them to get back on track, and would like to know more, please visit our website: www.stmartinshousing.org.uk.

Alternatively, for an informal chat about the roles, please call Alex Colahan, Manager at Somewhere Safe to Stay Hub, on: 07884 138839.
