Old Buckenham High School is a small/medium-sized high school set in the heart of the beautiful Norfolk countryside. We currently have around 560 students aged between 11 and 16 years and are committed to ensuring that we provide all our students with an inspiring and challenging learning experience based around excellent teaching, high quality pastoral care, guidance and support. Our school is firmly built upon a strong and positive community ethos of mutual respect and high standards for all. The school will use the curriculum, pastoral support programme, wider life of the school and local and wider community to comprehensively and positively promote the key fundamental British values. It is our intent to have high success rates in terms of academic achievement, we are efficient in delivery and cost effective providing diverse and rich experiences that develop students academically, socially and culturally to ensure they are fit for the 21st Century, responding to the local, regional, national and global challenges. Our strong leadership team and continuous improvement approach was recognised by Ofsted in our last inspection where we were rated as ‘Good’ in all aspects.

We are seeking to appoint 2 inspiring and energetic individuals for the role of Cover Supervisor. As a Cover Supervisor you will supervise whole classes to cover absences of teachers and to allow teachers to carry out professional duties and training. Cover Supervisors will give instructions for the lesson, as provided by the teacher, and keep students on tasks while maintaining good order. Cover Supervisors will respond to general questions and provide general feedback to the teacher.
We feel passionately about promoting reading within our school as we recognise its importance in students achieving across the curriculum, in addition to being an excellent form of escapism. Anyone with a passion for reading themselves, an interest in teenage fiction and the school library would be perfect for the post. If you are interested in the post, but have other passions, we are always keen to explore how we can broaden our students’ experiences. If you want to work in a rewarding post where you are challenged and every day is different, then we want to hear from you.
