Job Description

Do you want to be part of a vibrant local charity? Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of families, children and young adults affected by disability?
We are growing our fundraising team and are looking for a dynamic individual to join us a Community and Events Fundraiser. You will work with us to produce and support an events calendar and make links with local businesses and community groups to spread the word about the work we do, so you must be a confident communicator. You will work closely with our Marketing and Communication Lead. You will have some fundraising experience, be creative and able to ‘sell’ the message of The Hamlet as well as being flexible with working day when the need arises. You must have loads of energy and a sense of humour.

Initially this is a 2 year fixed term contract.

Person Specification

Experience of fundraising. (essential)
The ability to work well as part of a small team. (essential)
The ability to work independently and self motivate. (essential)
A high level of creativity and flexible working style. (essential)
Confident IT skills, including use of Microsoft word, excel and email. (essential)
Be a confident and fluent English speaker with the ability to speak to a wide range of audiences. (essential)
A high level of literacy and ability to write reports and letters to a range of individuals and organisations. (essential)
A willingness to work evenings and weekends. (essential)
The ability to travel as required by the job with access to a car for equipment and resources. (essential)
A qualification in fundraising, marketing or similar. (desirable)
Be physically fit to meet the requirements of the job that will involve lifting, setting up for events and carrying equipment. (essential)
An understanding of the challenges disabled children, young people and their families face daily and an appreciation of the barriers to inclusion that disabled people and their families can experience. (desirable)
Experience of working in a charity. (desirable)
A willingness to undertake training as required. (essential)

Salary

Hourly rate: £9.19 to £10.48 per hour depending on experience

Annual Salary: £11,950 - £13,630 depending on experience


Hours

Hours: 25 hours a week, to suit business needs. This will include some evenings and weekends. Days of work will be flexible but will always include Wednesdays.
