“It’s a really good way to get your foot in the door” - Business Apprentice of the Year
Carrie-Ann Blackall, a Business Administration Apprentice with chartered accountants Lovewell Blake, is on track to complete her Apprenticeship later this year.
Ms Blackall decided to apply for the Apprenticeship position with Lovewell Blake because of their reputation as good employer and track record of supporting Apprentices to embark on careers with the company.
Ms Blackall has a varied role, providing a range of administrative support across departments, developing her skills and experience in this professional environment. She has been delighted with the support provided by her employer and the college:
The HR department here are really fantastic,” she says, “they are very understanding with giving me the study time I need and are more than happy to work around me, as well as providing additional training opportunities. Debbie, my Apprenticeship assessor, has been fantastic, very supportive, and easy to talk to.”
Ms Blackall says feels lucky to have a job that she enjoys so much, adding that she feels “very proud” to have won this award. She says she would recommend others to consider an Apprenticeship to get their career started:
It’s a really good way to get your foot in the door, it looks fantastic on your CV, enables you to carry on learning, and get the experience that is so important in developing a career.”
