College closed: snow disrupts travel
10th February 2021
Weather and travel conditions have improved: for Thursday and Friday this week (11 and 12 February) the City College Norwich campus will be open only for the small number of students expected to attend. Half term is next week and the campus will re-open the following week, beginning 22 February, again for students who are expected to attend. Online teaching and learning will continue. The nursery will operate as normal.
Although weather conditions have eased today, travel remains difficult in some areas. Since virtually all of City College Norwich teaching and learning is currently being delivered online we have decided not to reopen the college campus tomorrow Wednesday 10 February. The nursery will also remain closed. Updates for Thursday and Friday will be made tomorrow.
With the forecast remaining wintry and advice from Norfolk Police to avoid all unnecessary journeys, City College Norwich will remain closed on Tuesday 9 February. Teaching and learning will continue online as it has since the beginning of term. Updates will follow on the website and on social media.
Snow is affecting travel across large parts of East Anglia. We have decided to close City College Norwich to all students and staff to minimise risk. Fortunately, teaching and learning is currently being delivered online and that will continue as normal. We will update websites and social media and communicate via College emails about any disruption beyond Monday 8 February.
