Summary

This specialist aviation engineering degree course will allow you to gain practical experience alongside advanced academic study. Delivered in partnership with KLM UK Engineering and awarded by University of East Anglia, this course has been designed to ensure you develop the knowledge, technical skills, understanding and awareness necessary to work in technical, supervisory or management roles in the industry and will help kick start your journey to a high-flying career.

This course allows you to work on a fully functional Boeing 737 aircraft in the International Aviation Academy Norwich’s (IAAN) world class Aviation Emulation Zone® whilst studying in our first class learning environment at IAAN.

The programme provides applicants with the opportunity to pass European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) B1.1 examinations, alongside academic study for an aviation degree.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will need 96 UCAS points (or appropriate level 3 qualification). Mature students with a relevant industrial background may also be considered. All applicants will need GCSE English and Maths (at either grade C or grade 4 and above).
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. For International students we require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading), the required minimum is: IELTS Academic (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components). Please contact the Advice shop for advice and guidance. International candidates are also actively encouraged to access the International Students web page.

Assessment

The programme is assessed through a combination, academic assignments, presentations, portfolios and project work. Students will have the opportunity to complete B licence EASA examinations leading to B1.1 licence certification. NB Students who complete this element of the programme will be required to gain two years’ experience at an approved maintenance organisation before being able to apply for a Category B1.1 EASA Licence.

Progression

You can progress on to further study at Masters, M.Phil. and PhD level.

Career Progression

Successful completion of this course gives students the opportunity to progress into a range of technical, supervisory and, in due course, management roles with the aviation sector.

Fees

£9,000 per year (for UK students)

For international students (students from outside of the UK), fees are set at £13,000 per year
