This programme provides a full introduction to careers working with young children, aged 0 - 7 years. This is a sector-endorsed practice award, as recognised by SEFDEY (Sector Endorsed Foundation Degrees Early Years) and has Early Years Educator status.

You will participate in promotional campaigns and charity events, as well as attending subject trips and visits
Applicants should have sufficient and appropriate prior experience in childcare and an appropriate level 3 qualification and also show the potential for successful study at HE level, commitment to study and work in the sector and commitment to the work-experience component. Applicants with appropriate prior experience in childcare, but who do not hold an appropriate level 3 qualification, may also be considered.
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. For International students we require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading), the required minimum is: IELTS (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components). A rich and varied range of assessment methods include written assignments, presentations, portfolios and work-based projects.
In terms of academic progression, Students completing the programme can progress onto our BA (Hons) Childhood Studies Top Up, and BA (Hons) Integrated Health and Social Care Top Up, or other related programmes.
Graduates from this programme can expect to access a wide variety of careers, including management of early years settings, healthcare, social care and family support work. Completion of Top Up programmes also allow graduates to apply for Initial Teacher Training or relevant postgraduate programmes.
