Entry Requirements

3 GCSE grades A*-D or 9-3; including English.
An informal interview to review qualifications and experience.

Learning Outcomes

For the Extended Certificate students will be required to complete two core units, a single mandatory unit and then a selection of additional units. Examples of the units that may be studied includes:

Enterprise in the Business World (core)
Finance for Business (core)
Principles of Marketing (mandatory)
Promoting a Brand
Principles of Customer Service
Providing Business Support
Business Online

Assessment

The method of assessment is through both internal and external units. Internal assessments which includes a variety of assessment methods; including assignments, presentations, group work, reports and discussions. External Units are exams which are marked by BTEC. Students will need to achieve a Pass in all units both internal and external to achieve the full qualification. A grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction can be achieved on this course.

Progression

Progression can be to employment, an apprenticeship or another course. The expectation is that progressing students will have met 90% attendance target plus have demonstrated a good level of performance in terms of work progress, behaviour.

Career Progression

The subject area of 'Business' can lead students into a wide variety of different occupations in a wide range of business environments. Having completed this course, the next step may be to continue their studies either in an apprenticeship or other subject areas.

Fees
