Summary

You will gain core knowledge in a variety of areas such as health and safety, building services engineering (BSE) systems, maintenance principles and building technology. You will then go on to specialise in plumbing and study topics such as tools, equipment and materials, different plumbing systems, pipework technology, system installation and techniques (all of which will allow you in time to install) and commission, maintain
and decommission plumbing systems.

It is likely that you will also study a second occupational specialism to support progression
into the labour market as you are often having to deal with more than one system (i.e. plumbing and heating engineering).

As part of this course, you will complete a mandatory “on the job” industry placement (315hrs) with an employer to develop your practical and technical skills.
