Summary
This programme is very much hands-on. Your supervisory skills will be developed as you supervise Level 1 & 2 students in one of our three restaurants, as well as working and developing your skills in customer service on the Hotel, Hair and Beauty school reception desk. Not only will you develop your skills in supervising people, you will gain more knowledge about wines and spirits, team leadership and supervisory skills. As a supervisor you will have the opportunity to develop people and coaching skills, all of which are very important in this busy and dynamic industry.

Entry Requirements
Successful completion of an appropriate level two qualification, part time employment in the Hospitality industry and achieve GCSE English and Maths grade C/4.

Principles of food safety for catering
Promoting food and beverage services and products
Principles of supervising customer service performance in hospitality, leisure, tourism.
Supervise food and beverage service
Legislation in food and beverage service
Barista Skills
Prepare and serve Wine, beers, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages
Supervise a hospitality event.
Prepare and serve cocktails.
Objective
There are great opportunities for supervisors with well-developed skills and knowledge.
Assessment
Will be a range of practical observations, written assignments and City and Guilds question papers.
Progression
This course carries 32 UCAS points which could allow you to progress into Higher Education and study Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Management.
Career Progression
Successful students could consider moving into industry into a team leader or supervisory role, or onto an advanced apprenticeship with an employer.
Fees
If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over please contact the Advice Shop.
