Unit 302, Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment Level 3

For practitioners who assess knowledge and/or skills in vocationally-related subject areas who use the following assessment methods: assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms or other learning environments
You need have occupational competence in the area you are quality assuring. This is usually demonstrated through holding a qualification at level 3 or above in the area of work you wish to quality assure.
You will need to be a qualified assessor with substantial experience of assessing.
You will need access to at least two assessors to quality assure as well as work alongside a qualified Internal Quality Assurer to countersign your decisions.
If you are new to quality assuring or hope to become an quality assurer but are not yet able to carry out real assessments you are able to complete the underpinning knowledge and understanding unit, Level 3 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment on its own and will not need access to candidates to assess.
Assessment will be through a variety of methods including assignments, observation, witness testimony and gathering of evidence to develop a portfolio of practice.
You could progress onto other qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 4 in Internal Verification, City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education and Training, City & Guilds Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, City & Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, City & Guilds Level 3 English for Literacy and Mathematics for Numeracy Teaching, Level 3 ILM Award in Mentoring, Level 3 ILM Award in Coaching.
You could progress into a number of careers including assessment in the workplace
