How to Bake Cookery for Beginners

If you have watched the Great British Bake-Off and would like to be able to produce your own delicious homemade cakes, breads and biscuits - then this could be the course for you. Aimed at baking novices, 'How to Bake' will introduce you to new techniques each week, so that you can bake a range of homemade cakes, biscuits, breads, buns and pies at home with confidence. You will be shown how to make perfectly-risen breads and sponges, melt-in the mouth biscuits and lightest of pastries.
Week 1 - Bread week (part 1) introduction to basic bread-making techniques and skills to produce a white loaf and a tasty pizza with a topping
Week 2 - Cake week, how to make a perfectly risen sponge - a classic Victoria sandwich sponge cake and cupcakes with a choice of fillings
Week 3 - Pastry week, how to make a lemon meringue pie and a savoury tart with crisp, buttery shortcrust pastry, which is the basis for a wide range of savoury and sweet dishes
Week 4 - Biscuit week, how to make a batch of the lightest melting moment biscuits and the richest chocolate cookies
Week 5 - Bread-making (part 2) build upon basic techniques to produce more advance dough's: iced buns made with an enriched dough and the Italian bread focaccia
Each week you will be asked to bring in additional ingredients, an apron and containers to take your food home.
