This program offers a detailed insight into Business Management techniques and is a widely recognised qualification in the workplace.
This programme will equip you with the skills and strategies to deal with contemporary challenges in business, marketing and finance. The programme has been developed in consultation with businesses and professional bodies. To enhance the qualification there is a choice of pathways in year three. This course is being redesigned and revalidated this year.
City College Norwich’s Degree programmes are validated and awarded by the UEA, meaning that the quality of the awards you get is assured by a world renowned Higher Education organisation.
The course is delivered through lectures, demonstrations, presentations, seminars, group work, simulations and case studies. Seminars give the opportunity for detailed discussion of a topic under the direction of a tutor. Delivery will take place at college over two days each week.
In your 1st and 2nd year you will study subjects such as Digital Marketing, Social and Business Enterprises, Financial Resources, Project Management, HR Managing People, Consumer Behaviour (Marketing)
In the 2rd year of this degree you can choose a specialist route depending on the career direction you wish to take (subject to availability).
Pathways in Accounting and Finance; Business Management; Marketing and Digital Communications; and Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management offered (subject to demand)

Flexible study options
Most of our courses require no more than two days attendance at college. This means you can continue to work alongside your studies and balance other commitments.
Smaller class sizes
Our smaller class sizes mean you get all the support you need during studies. This is a crucial difference to larger universities and provides you with access to your lecturers when you need them.
Applicants will normally need 48 UCAS tariff points on the new scheme from A Levels, OCR Diploma in Administration, BTEC National Diploma or certificate, or equivalent. We will discuss the most suitable programme for you to take at your interview. Other criteria such as relevant work experience (assessed at interview) will be considered.
Access to HE course with an appropriate discipline; Mature candidates with life experience in professional or semi-professional work will be considered, if they are able to demonstrate that they will be able to benefit from the course. This will occur through interview and an interview essay task.
Applications from students whose first language is not English are welcome. For International students we require evidence of proficiency in English (including writing, speaking, listening and reading), the required minimum is: IELTS (SELT) 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in all components). Assessment activities are based on the reality of your workplace and employers have contributed to the development of the activities. There will also be exams.
You could consider specialist postgraduate qualifications according to your own career aspirations. Graduates have gone on to qualify with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Financial Services Qualification, Masters level study or PhD Research.
Our former students enjoy careers in a wide variety of professions, including marketing, banking, human resource management, accounts and finance, financial services, management and teaching. In addition, students have entered the public services, national government and local charities as well as starting their own business.
