City College Norwich is the largest provider of A Levels to Norfolk students. Every year hundreds of students choose to study for their A Levels here.
Our Sixth Form Centre offers much more than a traditional sixth form. You will enjoy unrivalled student experiences and outstanding opportunities and support in a mature learning environment that is very different to being in a school setting.
Being part of the Sixth Form Centre means you will benefit from highly qualified A Level specialist teachers. You will study in fantastic facilities and have the opportunity to further your personal interests. This includes both national and international trips as well as participating in enrichment and college wide events.
Challenging and Supportive
You will be treated like an adult and regularly supported by our pastoral tutors. Our tutors will help you with your next step. Guiding you through UCAS, Apprenticeships or employment, as well as providing other pastoral support.
In return we expect you to work hard, attend fully and act on the advice of your teachers and tutors. You will need to take responsibility for completing work to your best ability and challenging yourself in your learning.
Our students are valued, and their voices are heard. At the Sixth Form Centre, you can become a student ambassador, or be on the student council. There are also opportunities with the Students’ Union or the governing board. You are listened to, involved in decision making and given responsibility to lead the way in helping shape your Sixth Form.
Treating you as an individual
One thing you can be certain of at the Sixth Form Centre is that you are treated as an individual. Your personal aspirations will be fully supported through whichever path you choose. You will receive expert guidance in creating a study programme which best suits your needs. This will give you what you need to achieve your ambitions.
An inclusive Sixth Form
As an inclusive Sixth Form, we understand that not all students have the same aspirations. There are lots of routes to getting you to where you want to be. Over two thirds of our students progress to university. An increasing number of students are going into employment or doing an Apprenticeships once they have completed their A Levels.
Programme of study
Students in the Sixth Form are expected to study a combination of 3 A Level subjects, attend weekly tutorials and take an active part in enrichment and experience of work opportunities.
Where do our students go?
The Sixth Form Centre offers excellent progression routes to university, employment and Apprenticeships. Our students go on to some fantastic destinations.
Last year our Sixth Form leavers went on to study a wide range of subjects at universities across the UK. This included those ranked in the top 20 overall or in a specialist subject, including Ravensbourne, York and Nottingham. Several students also went straight into employment, did an Apprenticeship or took a gap year.
