Summary

The course is aimed at those who want to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively coach or mentor people within an organisational context. These awards are for those who would like to coach or mentor in their organisation.
The units of the qualification are: Understanding good practice in mentoring. Undertaking mentoring practice. Reflecting on mentoring skills.
We will be offering this course via six 3 hours sessions plus individual tutorials, with several weeks between session 4 and 5 to coach or mentor your clients for 6 hours. The total course duration will be a minimum of 14 weeks.
This course starts Tuesday 8th November 2022 and Tuesday 4th April 2023, 4.30-6.30pm

Entry Requirements

Access to at least two people who can be mentored for 6 hours. Literacy skills at level 2 or equivalent. Willingness to mentor and research in your own time. Completion of pre-course tasks including independent research and reflection

Assessment

Assessment is via:
Production of one written assignment
A portfolio of evidence to show practice of 6 hours of coaching or mentoring with a maximum of 2 clients
A reflective journal.
Evidence of competency coaching or mentoring skills.
Evidence of supervision of coaching / mentoring practice
Production of a personal development plan.

Progression

Progression into industry or education as a coach or mentor. L5 and L7 ILM Courses.
