Summary
The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance provides rigorous training designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress into higher education or conservatoire training and may also support students intending to progress directly into employment in the creative industries. The course will focus on the essential technique and repertoire required for a career in The Performing Arts industry, whilst supporting all learners through the audition and application process for higher education applications. Students will develop core skills across dance, acting, and singing, which will be complemented by specialist conditioning training and contextual research to support their understanding of their subject. The course is delivered by a vibrant team of industry professionals utilising creativity, technical expertise, and performance opportunities as much as possible to enhance the student experience.
This qualification will provide students with an opportunity to stretch and refine their practical skills levels whilst defining their own personal interests and area of expertise. It allows students to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure which is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition into either higher-level training or employment.

Entry Requirements
Students will be expected to demonstrate relevant previous learning at A-Level or equivalent alongside practical ability.
Age: 18+
Providing evidence of achievement in English Language at GCSE grade 4 and above.
A satisfactory reference.
Entry is based upon a short audition process.
Assessment
Learners will be assessed through three units of study, which will explore technical practice, creative practice, theoretical bodies of knowledge and work placements. Students within their final assessments will take control of their own professional development and explore a self-defined area of practice that will bring together their applied professional practice and specialist performance techniques combined with their knowledge and understanding to carry out a performance project.
Progression
Higher education- The qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of performance work, enabling them to progress to higher education courses.
Further/conservatoire training- The qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work enabling them to progress to conservatoire courses.
Career Progression
Students completing this qualification may progress directly into employment or self-employment within the creative industries.
Fees
