Summary

This 2 year qualification is for you if you are 16 or over and are working towards becoming a chef in a professional kitchen or Kitchen management.
UCAS points are attached and has a value equivalent to 3 A levels upon completion of the 2 year programme.
There is a mandatory Industry placement of 315 hours to complete within the programme of study

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at grades 4 -9 must include English, Maths and science
Candidates are invited to attend an informal interview and provide a reference.

Assessment

Externally set theory exam, and Externally set practical synoptic assignment. Mandatory Employer involvement

Progression

Progression on to University to study Hospitality management/Culinary Arts is a progression possibility or Level 4 Senior Chef in Culinary Arts Apprenticeship (following a period of employment as a Chef de Partie).

Career Progression

The successful completion of this qualification could lead to the position of chef de Partie in a fine dining establishment for example in a Restaurant, hotel, pub, Bistro or contract catering sector.

If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. If you are aged 19 and over please contact the Advice Shop.
