Demise of Delicious?

I have previously recommended the Social bookmarking tool Delicious here, as a way students and staff can share use and discovery of websites as part of the learning process.  I am not sure if Delicious is to be sold, closing or what, but it is another example of the ephemeral nature of some web 2 tools, even as well established as Delicious.  So...you do  need to think about back up if it is a tool you use with students.  If you want to consider the alternatives, take a look a the Lifehacker article on the best alternatives to Delicious.
