City College Norwich was the first further education college in the country to gain Awarding Organisation Status, which means that we are now able to create custom bespoke qualifications and accredit high quality training provided by employers with nationally recognised qualifications.

The NEW Diplomas

Available to 14-19 year olds to study a whole range of skills that are needed to progress to further and higher education or employment.

Young Apprenticeships

The Young Apprenticeship (YA) programme is a challenging and exciting opportunity for able, well-motivated 14-16 year old students with a passion to develop their understanding and skills in a sector in which they have a genuine interest or career aspiration.

NVQs (National Vocational Qualifications)

Designed by industry to meet specific standards for particular jobs. You will need to be working (or possibly volunteering) to undertake an NVQ qualification.

BTEC National Diplomas and Certificates

Useful qualifications for both careers and Higher Education entry. These programmes are mainly assessed through coursework rather than exams and include real-life problem solving, group and individual work.

C&G (City and Guilds of London Institute)

These certificates mainly cover craft and job related skills and are universally recognised as an entry to a job or to further training. Apprenticeships work-based training for young people aged 16-24 years in the Norfolk and Waveney area.

Access to Higher Education Programmes

For many people wishing to re-enter formal education after a period away from academic study, an Access course provides a flexible and skills-based alternative to A Levels. These programmes are intensive, offering the equivalent of two A Levels in one or two years, and are a recognised entry qualification for Degree and other Higher Education courses.
