Are you interested in working in fashion retail and aged between 14 and 25? Sign up today for our 'Have a Go’ Fashion Retail Day on 24th April, in association with ACER and WorldSkills UK and supported by the European Social Fund.

The day, to be held in the StartUp Lounge at City College Norwich from 10am to 4pm, will be a mixture of talks and activities aimed at students who have an interest in fashion and the retail industry:

April 23rd is World Book Night.  The Start Up Lounge will be hosting an event during the day in collaboration with the Information Store.  We will be giving out free books (details below), and have poet Julia Webb and author Lesley Smith coming in to talk about what they do.

10 am – Books start to be given out
10.30 am – Julia Webb Poet will do a reading
11am Lesley Smith will talk about crowd funding
12pm Julia Webb will do another reading

‘Unknown’ is a student-led exhibition being held at St.Margarets Church, Norwich from the 17th to the 22nd of February. The exhibition is open 10am until 4pm every day with a private viewing on Monday the 17th at 6.30pm. The show was organised by second year photography diploma students of City College Norwich. It is an opportunity to publicise the students as practicing photographers in the Norwich area. A broad variety of styles will be shown at the exhibition from landscapes and nature to fashion and portrait. All pieces shown will be available to buy.

The next Quarterly Inflation Report by the Bank of England is being held at The National Skills Academy for Financial Services, St Andrews House on Thursday 13th February 2014.
 
This is an opportunity to hear the latest news from the Bank of England and also an opportunity to ask questions.  Refreshments will be served at the event.
 
The presentation will be delivered by Tim Pike, Bank of England Deputy Agent for the South East and East Anglia.

About the Sixth Form Centre

City College Norwich has a long pedigree. It was founded in 1891 and moved to its present site on Ipswich Road in 1953.  A Levels have been part of our provision for many years. In 2007, it was decided to bring all our A Level courses together into a specialist Sixth Form Centre, where full-time 16-18 year old students would be taught by A Level experts.

Artist Statement:

This interim event showcases work in progress by students from City College Norwich studying for a BA Honours in Creative Practices and Enterprise.

Through the course we have been challenged to justify and reflect on our creative practices in order to develop our skills and push the boundaries of our work.
